Position Overview
As Europe Business Director / General Manager, Europe at FEI SOLUTION GmbH, you will report to the Vice President of International Business and lead our market expansion and localization efforts across Europe. Managing established operations including the manufacturing site in Romania, marketing center in Germany, and partner networks in the Netherlands and Italy, you will drive our strategic growth agenda and enhance brand presence in the intelligent logistics equipment sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement 3-5 year business strategies prioritizing markets, product entry strategies, and resource allocation for the European region.
- Oversee P&L management ensuring achievement of sales, profitability, and market share goals.
- Continuously assess opportunities and risks across European countries, adjusting strategies to secure sustainable growth.
- Strengthen relationships with core strategic clients such as Fives, Swisslog, and Vanderlande, elevating from component supplier to collaborative solutions partner.
- Lead sales of system-level solutions to major end users including e-commerce fulfillment centers (Amazon, Shein), logistics companies (DHL, DPD, GLS), and manufacturing warehouses in automotive, pharmaceuticals, and apparel sectors.
- Establish partnerships with local European logistics equipment OEM manufacturers to widen component coverage.
- Represent the company at industry exhibitions like LogiMAT, associations, and high-level business events to boost brand visibility.
- Initially act as a hands-on contributor driving key sales and projects, later building and managing a local team to transition to organizational leadership.
- Coordinate resources between the China headquarters, Romania plant, and German marketing center to ensure seamless contract execution and project delivery.
- Design sales processes, project management protocols, and customer service standards tailored for the European market to enhance client satisfaction.
- Monitor technical trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in European intelligent logistics equipment to inform corporate R&D and market strategies.
- Gather customer feedback for product adaptation and certification localization to meet European requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Open to all nationalities with EU long-term residency or valid working authorization.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken); additional skills in German, Dutch, or Italian preferred.
- Willing to travel regularly within Europe for client meetings, project follow-up, and industry events.
- Minimum 8 years of B2B industrial equipment sales/business development experience, including at least 5 years focused on Europe.
- Solid background in logistics automation, conveyor sorting equipment, intelligent warehousing, or related industrial automation sectors.
- Proven experience with strategic system integrator clients, understanding their procurement and business models.
- Demonstrated ability to sell core components (conveyor rollers, drive units, sorting modules) to OEMs as well as complete system solutions to end-users.
- Preferred candidates have existing relationships or senior contacts with European leading logistics system integrators and familiarity with major European markets (Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France) and CEE regions.
- Experience selling to e-commerce, express logistics, automotive manufacturing, and pharmaceutical distribution sectors is a plus.
- Leadership experience with emphasis on personal performance and high self-motivation; capability to work as both individual contributor and team leader.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and ability to bridge Chinese supply chain culture with European customer business practices.
- Balanced strategic vision and execution capabilities; adept at long-term planning and hands-on project delivery in a dynamic environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build business systems from inception.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
The annual salary is competitive within the European market, starting from €150,000 with on-target earnings including performance bonuses. The work location is negotiable across Europe with periodic travel required.
