We are searching for a skilled Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Estimator to join our high-performing team within the Transport business. The role is predominantly based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, with openness to candidates from Sydney or those willing to relocate. This position provides flexibility with most estimating work conducted remotely and collaborative tasks increasing near tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates, cost plans, and pricing approaches for ITS construction and maintenance projects.
- Produce estimates based on first-principles methods utilizing estimating software platforms.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor pricing including requests for quotations (RFQs) and evaluation of tenders.
- Prepare labor cost buildups, program-based cost models, lifecycle cost schedules, and cashflow forecasts.
- Participate in risk and opportunity workshops, contributing to tender strategy development.
- Benchmark and validate estimates against historic cost data and market trends for accuracy.
- Work closely with Bid Managers, Commercial teams, Operations, Procurement, and technical subject matter experts to deliver comprehensive tender submissions.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in estimating transport infrastructure projects, especially ITS, electrical, telecommunications, road, tunnel, or motorway works.
- Proficiency in preparing first-principles estimates supported by strong analytical and commercial acumen.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with estimating software tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering, or a related field are preferred.
