Esports Coach - Independent Contractor (Onsite)

About The Position

Concorde Education is seeking independent contractors to provide esports coaching and enrichment sessions for K–12 students at partner schools. Assignments are conducted in person at various onsite locations with opportunities arising throughout the academic year. Typically, assignments last around 10 weeks and involve 1 to 4 instructional hours per week, mostly after school hours.

Role Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate esports activities fostering teamwork, communication, digital citizenship, and strategic gameplay.
• Adjust instruction to student skill levels, site policies, available technology, approved games, and educational objectives.
• Mentor students to enhance game knowledge, leadership, collaboration, decision-making, and competitive skills through practice, scrimmages, reviews, and tournaments where applicable.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment suitable for the students' age group.
• Liaise with Concorde and school personnel to communicate session needs or significant concerns.
• Complete session reports after each instructional period.
• Adhere strictly to rules regarding student safety, technology use, emergency protocols, visitor access, and student protection.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 college credit hours if required by the assignment's site.
• Experience coaching, competing in, or leading organized esports or gaming groups.
• Proficiency in one or more popular esports game titles relevant to the program.
• Background in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or facilitating activities for school-aged youth.
• Strong skills in communication, organization, and leading teams or classrooms.
• Availability that matches assignment schedules with good communication about any conflicts.
• Familiarity with esports tools such as gameplay analysis, tournament management, streaming platforms, or replay software is a plus.

Materials and Resources

Contractors may have access to school equipment including computers, gaming consoles, peripherals, licensed games, curriculum guides, lesson plans, replay and streaming software. Use of personal materials is permitted only if appropriate, safe, lawful, and aligns with assignment and site policies. Any reimbursements require prior written approval from Concorde.

Compensation

Pay rates vary by assignment and are typically $50 or more per completed instructional hour with students. Contractors may propose their rates considering factors like preparation, planning, travel, materials, and schedule. Concorde retains the right to accept, decline, or counteroffer on proposed rates. Payment is generally made monthly via direct deposit.

Application and Onboarding

Candidates advancing in the selection may be invited to create a contractor profile and fulfill onboarding requirements. Entry steps such as application, interview, or onboarding completion do not guarantee placements. Assignments depend on fit, compensation agreement, background checks, site clearances, and final approvals. Some positions require fingerprinting, agency clearance, or specific documentation prior to starting.
