Role Overview and Responsibilities

As an Environmental Services Area Cleaner, you play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and secure environment for patients and visitors. Your duties will include cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, restrooms, exam rooms, offices, public areas, and other assigned locations within the unit.

• Clean patient rooms, associated areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public bathrooms, discharge areas, and other designated zones.
• Wipe down surfaces, manage spills, empty trash receptacles, and maintain furniture cleanliness.
• Restock supplies such as paper products in exam rooms and restrooms as needed.
• Inform supervisors promptly when supplies run low.
• Adhere strictly to department policies, procedures, and hospital-wide safety and quality standards.
• Undergo one to three months of on-the-job training covering departmental policies, cleaning techniques, and the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior experience in environmental services, especially within a hospital environment.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Routine tasks require extensive body movement including standing and walking throughout shifts.
• Physical activity involves stooping, stretching, lifting, and moving objects between 10 to 50 pounds.
• Regular handling and usage of disinfectants, cleaning agents, and chemicals.
• Uses personal protective equipment consistently following standard precautions.

Work Schedule

The role requires daytime availability from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including alternate weekends and holidays.
