About the Role
This contract opportunity is for an English (Australia) audio specialist who will help evaluate and refine audio and video content for AI research work. The position is fully remote and is intended for someone who can work 10 to 20 hours each week at a rate of $50 per hour.
The organization connects skilled creative and technical professionals with AI research teams. The work sits at the intersection of transcription, evaluation, and quality control, with an emphasis on Australian English accuracy and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe English (Australia) audio and video material with a strong focus on accuracy, readability, and alignment with task guidelines.
- Create and maintain clear evaluation criteria, including rubrics and written standards that support consistent grading.
- Review model outputs and assess them for correctness, completeness, and overall clarity.
- Contribute to benchmarking and QA activities to help keep evaluation results reliable and uniform.
- Work with project leads to clear up ambiguous cases and improve the design of tasks and workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent writing, editing, and analytical thinking abilities.
- Comfort working independently and managing time well.
- Native or near-native command of English as spoken in Australia.
- Good understanding of Australian vocabulary, phrasing, and slang.
- Ability to listen to and accurately transcribe English audio content.
- Availability for a weekly commitment of 10 to 20 hours.
Preferred Background
- College students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Studies or experience in linguistics, humanities, social sciences, journalism, or technical fields are a plus.
- Prior exposure to transcription, annotation, localization, or research-related workflows is helpful.
- Familiarity with how Australian English differs from other English variants is valued.
- Interest in AI, language models, or applied research environments is desirable.
