Job description

Role Overview

This contract position is for an Engineering & Technical Documentation Specialist working remotely in Canada. The assignment pays $40 to $50 per hour and requires a weekly commitment of 10 to 40 hours.

What You'll Do

  • Examine and make sense of a broad mix of technical materials, such as engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD outputs, and schematics.
  • Create clear rubrics and step-by-step evaluation guidelines for assessing visual and technical documentation.
  • Explain technical diagrams, tables, and charts in detail so that domain-specific ideas are represented accurately.
  • Check, annotate, and refine complex technical content to support advanced data labeling and content-comprehension work.
  • Work with project leads and subject-matter experts to ensure deliverables match project objectives and quality expectations.
  • Convert sophisticated engineering and construction ideas into straightforward instructional content for AI model development.

Requirements

  • You should bring substantial experience from engineering, construction, architecture, manufacturing, or a closely related technical field.
  • You need strong ability to read and produce technical documentation, including blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD files, and schematics.
  • Experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Architect, Industrial Engineer, Construction Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or CAD Specialist is especially relevant.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills are important, particularly where accuracy and clarity matter in technical work.
  • You must be able to turn visual information and complex ideas into organized, easy-to-follow formats.
  • Prior work on rubrics, checklists, or instructional content for technical or educational use would be an advantage.

Additional Information

This is a remote contract role. The engagement calls for 10 to 40 hours per week. Compensation is quoted at $40 to $50 per hour.
