Role Overview

The Engineering Supervisor will play a key role in the resort’s pre-opening phase, reporting to the Director of Engineering and guiding the engineering team through construction completion, system testing, commissioning, and transitioning to operational maintenance. The position requires ensuring all hotel systems and equipment adhere to Four Seasons’ stringent quality, efficiency, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in inspections, snagging, commissioning, and testing alongside contractors and consultants.
  • Manage equipment handovers, technical documentation, warranties, and asset labelling for accurate operational transfer.
  • Supervise setup and data input of the CMMS (Hotsos), including registering assets and scheduling preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinate defect rectifications, punch list completions, and system handovers with project teams and contractors.
  • Facilitate the establishment of engineering workshops, storerooms, tool organization, spare parts inventory, and energy monitoring systems.
  • Organize and oversee technical training for the engineering staff on new systems like HVAC, BMS, generators, elevators, and fire safety equipment.
  • Keep detailed records of commissioning certificates, inspection reports, service agreements, and compliance documentation.
  • Plan and supervise preventive maintenance efforts pre- and post-opening to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Conduct regular site inspections ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and fire safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with operational departments such as Housekeeping, Security, and Food & Beverage to confirm technical readiness.
  • Delegate engineering tasks to ensure prompt response to snagging, maintenance requests, and project changes.
  • Transition to daily maintenance supervision covering preventive maintenance, guest room repairs, public area upkeep, and emergency management.
  • Encourage a safety-focused, sustainable, and service-oriented culture through proactive leadership and training.

Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in engineering roles within luxury hotels, resorts, or large-scale facilities, including minimum 2 years in supervisory positions.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire life safety systems, and energy management technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in pre-opening processes such as commissioning, snagging, defect management, and system handovers.
  • Familiarity with CMMS software, especially Hotsos, and expertise in asset and preventive maintenance management.
  • Excellent leadership and organisational abilities, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Arabic is essential due to localization requirements.

  • Provision of housing and transportation.
  • 30 vacation days plus official public holidays.
  • Complimentary meals and uniform cleaning services.
  • Comprehensive medical and life insurance coverage.
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program and global complimentary room nights.
  • Opportunities for career growth and development.
  • Additional benefits for family members.
