Engineering Estimator

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Estimator to deliver precise cost estimates and competitive tender proposals for projects involving engineering, machining, and fabrication.

Key Duties

• Develop detailed cost estimates and submit tenders.
• Analyze technical drawings, project specifications, and related documentation.
• Evaluate costs related to materials, labor, machinery, and subcontractors.
• Solicit and review quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities to reduce costs.
• Provide project teams with accurate scope definitions and cost data.
• Keep estimating records and cost databases up to date.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as an estimator in engineering, machining, or fabrication sectors.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and commercial awareness skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Familiarity with CAD software is an advantage.

Benefits and Working Hours

• Salary approximately £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
• Working hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; Friday 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
