Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Employment Consultant to join the Inclusive Employment Australia program. This position is based in Ipswich, Queensland, targeting support for early school leavers in Ipswich and Logan regions through a school-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish meaningful and encouraging relationships with young people leaving school early.
- Collaborate closely with schools and the Community Engagement Coordinator to strengthen partnerships.
- Assist youth with resume writing, job applications, and interview preparation.
- Engage local businesses to identify and advocate for employment opportunities suitable for participants.
- Provide continued support after placement to ensure job retention and success.
- Refer clients to suitable training programs, allied health professionals, and community resources.
- Maintain accurate and detailed client records to guarantee quality service delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Passionate about working with young people and capable of driving positive change.
- Experienced employment consultants seeking a youth-focused role or professionals from youth work or community development backgrounds ready to transition into employment services.
- Strong customer engagement abilities complemented by effective administrative skills.
- Insightful understanding of challenges faced by young people today.
- Beneficial but not mandatory to have existing networks in Ipswich and Logan areas.
Additional requirements include excellent communication skills, resilience, organizational prowess, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure. A driver's license and personal vehicle are necessary for travel between various sites.
