Job description

About the Role:

Join APM at the Noarlunga Centre in South Australia to make a significant difference by helping individuals with disabilities secure meaningful employment opportunities. As an Employment Consultant, you will combine empathetic participant support with effective sales, relationship management, and administrative tasks, aiming to foster life-changing employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand participant goals to guide them toward employment success.
  • Coach candidates to become job-ready, enhance their competitiveness, and improve interview skills.
  • Assist with resume development, interview preparation, and job search strategies while connecting participants to upskilling resources.
  • Advocate actively with employers to facilitate job placements.
  • Generate employment leads via cold calls, employer visits, and direct engagement.
  • Develop and maintain a robust employer pipeline and convert opportunities into successful placements.
  • Uncover and leverage less-visible job opportunities through proactive business development.
  • Confidently present candidates’ qualifications tailored to employers’ requirements.
  • Influence employer hiring by emphasizing the benefits of inclusive recruitment.
  • Negotiate employment trials, work experience, and wage subsidies.
  • Maintain strong and ongoing employer relationships to stimulate repeat business and job openings.
  • Achieve and surpass key performance indicators related to placements and employer engagement.
  • Monitor participant progress through regular meetings and maintain up-to-date documentation and compliance records.
  • Celebrate achievements to boost participant confidence and sustained engagement.

Candidate Profile:

  • Excellent communication skills and a flair for building employer relationships.
  • Previous experience in sales, recruitment, business development, or customer interaction roles.
  • A genuine passion for empowering individuals with barriers to employment.
  • Resilience, motivation by targets, and strong organizational abilities.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.

Additional Information & Eligibility:

  • Must be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Possession of a current driver’s license and comprehensively insured vehicle is required.
  • MyGovID (Standard level) must be held.
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Availability for full-time work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
