Job description
Role overview
This position is ideal for someone who is motivated by helping people with disability move into meaningful work that can improve their lives. The role is based at APM’s Devonport, Tasmania site within the Inclusive Employment Australia Program.
About APM
APM is a worldwide health and human services organisation that has been changing lives since 1994. With a team of around 15,000 people working across 11 countries, the organisation supports people of all abilities to live more independent and rewarding lives. Employees also have access to strong growth and development pathways across APM’s global group of brands.
What kind of person will do well
The right person will care deeply about inclusion and believe that people of every ability deserve the chance to succeed. They should be confident building connections, able to engage with stakeholders effectively, and comfortable creating practical solutions to overcome challenges. A compassionate, supportive approach is important, along with a genuine desire to make a positive and lasting difference.
Experience from areas such as sales, retail, call centres, hospitality, consulting, business development, or administration may also be useful in this role.
What the role involves
You will support participants with disability to prepare for work, find suitable jobs, and stay in sustainable employment. The role focuses on helping people recognise their strengths, overcome barriers, and approach new work opportunities with confidence.
You will also be expected to develop creative ways to address employment challenges, advocate for inclusive recruitment and workplace adjustments, and celebrate both small and large achievements with participants. Building strong relationships with employers and organisations that value diversity and inclusion will be a key part of the job.
Benefits and support
This is a varied role with more impact than a typical desk-based position. APM offers a competitive salary with performance-based incentives, ongoing training, and career development opportunities. The workplace is designed to be supportive and inclusive, with regular recognition of achievements and access to a range of wellbeing and lifestyle benefits.
Additional benefits
- Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing support
- Option to purchase additional annual leave
- Paid parental leave
- Funded Certificate IV in Community Services or Mental Health Peer Support, subject to eligibility criteria
- Service recognition initiatives
- APM Family Hub
- Vehicle salary packaging through Maxxia
Diversity and inclusion
APM values diversity and is committed to creating a workplace where everyone is treated fairly and with respect. Applications are encouraged from people of all ages, nationalities, abilities, and cultures, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the LGBTQI+ community, and people with disability.
What success looks like
You will thrive in this role if you enjoy breaking down barriers, creating opportunities, motivating others, and contributing to an inclusive community where every person has a chance to succeed.
