Job description
About the Role
APM is seeking an Employment Consultant for its Devonport site as part of the Inclusive Employment Australia Program. This role is focused on helping people with disability secure meaningful, lasting work that can make a real difference in their lives.
It is suited to someone who enjoys connecting people with opportunities, working with a range of stakeholders, and finding practical ways to help participants succeed in employment.
About APM
APM is a global health and human services organisation that has been changing lives since 1994. With a workforce of around 15,000 people across 11 countries, the organisation supports people of all abilities to live more independently and with greater fulfilment. Team members also benefit from strong career growth and development pathways across a broad international network.
Who You Are
You should be someone who values inclusion and diversity, and believes every person deserves a fair opportunity to succeed. The ideal candidate is confident building relationships, comfortable speaking with stakeholders, and able to turn challenges into workable solutions.
Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to create positive long-term change are important for success in this role.
Experience from sales, retail, call centres, hospitality, consulting, business development, or administration may also translate well to this position.
What You’ll Do
You will work with participants with disability to support them in preparing for work, finding suitable employment, and staying in sustainable jobs.
The role involves strengthening confidence, helping people identify their strengths, and supporting them through barriers as they step into new work opportunities.
You will also contribute creative solutions to employment challenges, promote inclusive hiring and workplace adjustments, recognise achievements along the way, and build strong employer partnerships with organisations committed to diversity and inclusion.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a role for someone who wants more than a desk job. The focus is on breaking down barriers, opening up employment opportunities, and helping people with disability thrive in work.
