Job description
Role Overview
The Employer Engagement Officer will actively support the establishment and operation of a new Sector Hub dedicated to fostering employer-led skills development and employment coordination across the Local London sub-region. This role involves working closely with employers, partners, and boroughs to align workforce development with employer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain strategic relationships with employers in identified priority sectors.
- Identify and analyze workforce demands, skill shortages, and recruitment obstacles.
- Facilitate employer engagement coordination among various boroughs and partner organizations.
- Contribute to synchronizing educational and training offerings with employer requirements.
- Help implement sector-specific employment pathways to support job opportunities for residents.
- Maintain detailed records of activities and support data management and reporting tasks.
- Assist in the day-to-day execution of activities within the Sector Hub framework.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in roles engaging directly with employers or managing partnerships.
- Knowledgeable about employment services, skills training programs, or related provision.
- Excellentcommunication abilities and adeptness at building strong stakeholder relationships.
- Highly organized with the capacity to manage workloads effectively and meet delivery goals.
- Comfortable interacting and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
About the Employer
Local London is a collaborative partnership covering nine London boroughs: Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Bromley, Enfield, Greenwich, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, and Waltham Forest. The Local London partnership is administered by Redbridge Council, whose terms and conditions apply to employed staff.

Additional Information
This position is permanent and full-time based primarily at Lynton House, Ilford, with travel expected throughout the sub-region. All shortlisted candidates will need to prove legal eligibility to work in the UK.
