Role overview
Deloitte is hiring a permanent Employee Relations Workplace Investigator to join its growing Employee Relations and Workplace Health and Safety team in Adelaide. This position suits someone with solid investigation experience who wants to deepen their specialist expertise, influence national ER practice, and work on sensitive matters across the organisation.
What you will do
- Manage investigations end to end, from initial intake through to the final report, with care, fairness and speed.
- Handle a varied portfolio of Employee Relations and Workplace Health and Safety investigations using consistent and sound investigative approaches.
- Draft clear, concise and strategic investigation reports, including practical recommendations for senior leaders.
- Interview people and gather evidence while staying neutral, empathetic and strictly confidential.
- Partner with Talent Directors, coaches and other stakeholders to align expectations and keep matters moving forward.
- Help improve investigation frameworks, templates and training materials to strengthen team practices.
About the team
The ER/WHS team provides national guidance on Employee Relations, HR policy, Workplace Health and Safety, and Workers’ Compensation. Investigation work is a key part of the function and often involves complex, sensitive issues. Team members are expected to lead matters independently, produce high-quality reporting for senior stakeholders, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of investigation practice.
Candidate profile
You may bring all or some of the following experience and strengths: at least 3–5 years in a relevant investigation role within a large corporate or professional environment; prior Manager-level exposure in Talent or HR; strong written and verbal communication; confident interviewing, questioning and evidence review skills; the ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion, empathy and professionalism; and excellent stakeholder, planning and prioritisation skills.
