Role Overview
Auckland University of Technology (AUT) invites applications for a significant student-centered role as an Employability & Career Specialist based at the City Campus. This permanent, full-time position plays a highly visible, student-facing part in supporting AUT’s student community to confidently transition into the workforce. The role involves reviewing CVs, guiding student walk-ins, facilitating workshops, conducting one-on-one appointments, and contributing to employability events across campuses, including one day weekly at North or South Campus.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized career advice, assisting students with CV preparation and job applications.
- Deliver engaging workshops and presentations to enhance employability skills.
- Support diverse student groups with warmth and adaptability in a dynamic, in-person environment.
- Collaborate with the Employability team to organize events and initiatives across multiple campuses.
- Maintain strong communication through verbal, written, and digital channels.
Candidate Profile
- Holds an undergraduate degree with practical experience in recruitment, career advisory, or human resources.
- Proven ability to critically assess CVs and provide constructive feedback.
- Skilled in public speaking and workshop facilitation.
- Excellent organizational skills enabling effective prioritization and self-management.
- Technologically adept with Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
- Committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and engaged in AUT’s cultural capability initiatives relating to Te Aronui.
- Brings cultural humility respecting Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Indigenous peoples, with experience supporting inclusion-focused efforts.
Working Conditions and Benefits
- Full-time role, standard 37.5 hours per week.
- Based primarily at City Campus with one day weekly at North or South Campus.

- Competitive salary range from $93,000 to $114,000 annually dependent on experience and qualifications.
