Position Summary

This fixed-term, part-time position (15-22.5 hours weekly, 0.4-0.6FTE) offers an opportunity to significantly contribute to health research within the Department of Physiotherapy. The role involves participating in a clinical trial in collaboration with AUT, Auckland Regional Pain Service, and Peke Waihanga, focused on evaluating the efficacy of Botox injections to alleviate residual limb pain in patients following major lower-limb amputation. The trial includes 48 participants and is funded by the Auckland Medical Research Foundation.

Role Expectations and Responsibilities

• Lead coordination and management of all clinical trial activities, ensuring compliance with research protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary research teams and external partners.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and monitoring of clinical research processes and participant engagement.
• Oversee data collection, quality assurance, and reporting to funding bodies and institutional stakeholders.
• Support knowledge dissemination through publication, teaching, and community engagement.
• Participate in equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives aligned with AUT's values.

Qualifications and Skills

• Postgraduate degree in a health-related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience in clinical trial coordination and health research.
• Strong understanding of research ethics, Indigenous perspectives, and equity-driven research practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Current driver's license and reliable access to transport for occasional regional travel.

Additional Information

• The position is based at AUT’s North Campus Auckland with options for remote working.
• The appointment is fixed-term for two years.
• Salary range: $104,000 to $119,000 per annum, pro rata according to part-time hours, commensurate with skills and experience.
