About the Role
This opportunity is offered through a partner company based in Australia, seeking an Email Marketing Manager to spearhead customer engagement and foster long-term growth within a rapidly expanding consumer brand.
The role involves overseeing lifecycle marketing initiatives across email, SMS, subscriptions, and customer retention efforts, blending strategic planning, creative storytelling, and data analysis to elevate engagement and maximize customer lifetime value.
You will craft customized customer journeys aimed at converting initial buyers into devoted supporters, collaborating closely with teams from growth, creative, product, and customer experience to shape every phase of the customer lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy for email and SMS marketing, managing campaign schedules, automated workflows, and lifecycle communications.
- Design, refine, and maintain customer journeys focusing on key lifecycle points such as welcome sequences, browse and cart abandonment, post-purchase nurturing, cross-selling, upselling, subscription, winback, and re-engagement.
- Oversee SMS campaigns and automations with the goal of boosting customer interaction and conversion rates.
- Develop strategies to enhance retention by increasing repeat purchases, subscription uptake, customer lifetime value, and loyalty.
- Implement sophisticated customer segmentation and personalization based on behavioral data, lifecycle phases, and engagement trends.
- Collaborate with creative teams to produce engaging email and SMS content that informs, motivates, and converts audiences.
- Establish and maintain a testing roadmap addressing elements like subject lines, messaging, offers, timing, segmentation, personalization, creative content, landing pages, and product recommendations.
- Analyze marketing performance, customer behavior, and retention data to identify enhancement opportunities.
- Create reporting dashboards and share actionable insights to elevate customer experience and marketing efficiency.
- Work closely with Growth Marketing, Creative, Customer Experience, Product, Conversion Rate Optimization, and leadership teams to ensure consistent and impactful customer engagement.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in lifecycle, email, or retention marketing roles.
- Proficient with Klaviyo for managing campaigns, customer segmentation, and automated journeys.
- Experience managing SMS marketing programs; knowledge of Postscript is advantageous.
- Strong grasp of lifecycle marketing principles including segmentation, personalization, and strategies for retention.
- Demonstrated expertise in creating and optimizing automated marketing workflows.
- Analytical skills to interpret retention metrics and customer behaviors effectively.
- Hands-on experience designing and analyzing A/B tests to improve marketing outcomes.
- Adept at balancing both strategic planning and practical campaign execution.
- Excellent copywriting skills and an understanding of consumer psychology.
- Preferably experienced in DTC eCommerce, health, wellness, supplements, beauty, or consumer product sectors.
- Familiarity with subscription models, cohort analysis, attribution, and retention reporting is a plus.
- Comfortable using AI tools to enhance marketing efficiency and creative development.
