Elementary Music Teacher - 1.0 FTE One Year Only for 2024-2025 at Eagle Point and Richardson Elementary Schools

Position Overview

This is a one-year fixed-term employment opportunity for the 2024-2025 academic year with a total 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) teaching assignment shared between Eagle Point Elementary School (0.67 FTE) and Richardson Elementary School (0.33 FTE) within ISD 622, located in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The work schedule consists of 8 hours daily across 194 school duty days, commencing in the fall of 2024. Remuneration and benefits align with the district's teacher labor agreement.

Required Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Minnesota teaching license covering elementary education for grades Kindergarten through 5.
• Ongoing commitment to professional growth through coursework, research, and collaborative peer engagement.
• Extensive knowledge of core elementary curriculum content, educational methodologies, and current best practices informed by research.
• Understanding of diverse student learning styles and needs, including academic, socio-emotional, multicultural, gender, and disability considerations.
• Proficiency in classroom management strategies and organizational abilities.
• Competency in instructional technology use and multimedia tools.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Capability to develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to district and school goals and varying student abilities.
• Experience in student assessment and performance evaluation to enhance learning outcomes.
• Ability to engage effectively in cooperative learning environments with diverse stakeholders including students, parents, staff, and community members.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction aligned with the assigned curriculum areas and utilize appropriate instructional resources and technology.
• Implement district and school program objectives.
• Adhere to prescribed course structures unless authorized otherwise by leadership.
• Assess student progress using district-approved evaluation methods, maintain required records, and provide relevant reports.
• Maintain communication with parents to support student development.
• Enforce student conduct policies and apply disciplinary measures as necessary.
• Promote healthy classroom environments by following district health and hygiene standards.
