Electrician cum AC Mechanic

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrician cum AC Mechanic to join Madre Integrated Engineering in Doha, Qatar. This contract role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and air-conditioning units in various vehicles including cars, trucks, buses, and commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and fix electrical issues in automotive vehicles such as cars, trucks, and commercial transport.
• Inspect, repair, or replace batteries, alternators, starters, wiring harnesses, relays, fuses, sensors, and lighting arrangements.
• Use diagnostic tools like scanners and multimeters to troubleshoot electrical and electronic vehicle systems.
• Install and fix vehicle accessories including lighting, horns, alarms, cameras, and electrical control modules.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle air-conditioning systems, including performing gas charging, refrigerant recovery, vacuum tests, and leak detection.
• Service or replace AC components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, blowers, and hoses.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine checks on electrical and AC units.
• Interpret vehicle wiring diagrams and technical manuals effectively.
• Ensure all service tasks comply with manufacturer standards and safety protocols.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, services, replaced parts, and repairs performed.
• Report significant defects, required spare parts, and further repair needs to supervisors promptly.
• Keep tools, equipment, and the workshop tidy, secure, and well-organized.

Candidate Requirements

• Certification such as ITI, Diploma, or technical qualification in Automotive Electrical, Automobile Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or related fields.
• At least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Electrician and AC Mechanic.
• Practical experience with maintenance and repair of cars, light vehicles, buses, and heavy trucks.
• Strong expertise with both 12V and 24V automotive electrical systems.
• Proficiency in AC system diagnostics including gas charging, leak testing, and component replacement.
• Skilled in operating workshop instruments like diagnostic scanners, multimeters, and AC recovery devices.
• Good grasp of electrical schematics and technical manuals concerning vehicle systems.
• Capable of independently locating faults and efficiently completing repairs.
• Basic English communication skills.
• The contract is for an initial period of 2 months with possibility for extension.
