Job Overview

The role involves performing a broad spectrum of tasks related to the electrical installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery, equipment, and fixtures to ensure smooth operation with minimal downtime, strictly following EHS guidelines and focusing on continuous enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address electrical equipment failures including LV-MV motors, low voltage switchboards, motor control centers, plant lighting systems, transformers, uninterruptible power supplies, variable frequency drives, breakers, and soft starters.
  • Carry out planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance with minimal supervision.
  • Identify and report irregularities; repair, replace components, reassemble, and test equipment while maintaining cleanliness of the work area.
  • Assess job requirements technically to select suitable tools and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults independently or with little guidance.
  • Use the computerized maintenance system (SAP) to order spare parts and keep maintenance records up to date.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and plant operation standards during maintenance activities.
  • Monitor recurring breakdowns and propose modifications to prevent future issues.
  • Provide guidance on plant and equipment to new electricians, craft trainees, and contractors aiding their maintenance tasks.
  • Participate actively in initiatives like 5S, Business Excellence, and Safety to improve workplace safety, EHS, and equipment performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
  • Support other departments in repairing and troubleshooting equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in a relevant technical field.
  • Completion of PEC Craft Training is mandatory.
  • At least 3 years of pertinent experience in heavy industry after earning the diploma or no experience required if PEC training is completed.

Skills

  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and good computer literacy.
  • Practical experience in electrical installation and fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions accurately.
