Job description

Role Overview

This opening is for an Early Years Support Staff member to assist the Nursery Teacher with the everyday care, safety, and wellbeing of children in the nursery age range of 3 months to 3 years. The role is practical and child-focused, helping create a clean, healthy, nurturing, and positive setting for very young children.

It is best suited to someone who truly enjoys caring for babies and toddlers and is comfortable with the hands-on physical aspects involved in early years support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Nursery Teacher with the smooth daily running of the classroom.
  • Provide personal care support such as feeding, nappy changes, clothing changes, cleaning, and nap-time assistance.
  • Help ensure children remain safe, hygienic, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the day.
  • Support teacher-led learning activities and play-based sessions.
  • Work with small groups of children or individual pupils when directed by the teacher.
  • Contribute to a calm, engaging, stimulating, and welcoming classroom atmosphere.

Role Context

The Nursery Teacher leads the lesson planning and overall direction of the classroom. The support staff member works closely with the teacher to carry out activities and provide the level of care required for very young children. Planning lessons is not part of this role, but the successful candidate is expected to share observations and contribute positively as a team member.

  • A caring, patient, and warm approach.
  • A cheerful and positive outlook.
  • Flexibility and willingness to help wherever needed.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with teaching staff.
  • The capacity to help maintain a safe, calm, and engaging learning space.

Why Join

  • Opportunity to work in a high-quality early years environment within a new international school.
  • A supportive team with clearly defined responsibilities and expectations.
  • Modern facilities with a strong emphasis on child wellbeing.
  • A professional international workplace in a distinctive location.
  • Pay is determined by relevant qualifications and experience.
