Job Overview

This opportunity is for a full-time Early Childhood Teacher position based in Epping, VIC. The role offers an annual salary up to $80,000 depending on experience, along with superannuation benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute child-care programs that foster physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth in children.
  • Lead engaging activities such as storytelling, singing, visits to local points of interest, and creative expression through art, drama, music, and physical play.
  • Design and sustain a safe, secure, and healthy environment for children.
  • Evaluate children’s skills, interests, and needs; regularly communicate progress or concerns with parents and staff.
  • Monitor children for early signs of learning or behavioral challenges and compile detailed reports for relevant stakeholders.
  • Support children in developing proper eating, dressing, and hygiene habits.
  • Foster cooperative working relationships with colleagues and community services involved with children.
  • Organize activities for school-age children in before- and after-school care programs as required.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.
  • Support assistants' roles including helping deliver developmentally appropriate programs, engaging children in stories and songs, preparing snacks, arranging rest and lunch areas, assisting with daily living tasks, documenting observations, and maintaining equipment and cleanliness.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or an equivalent qualification.
  • Current First Aid Certifications including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis management, and General First Aid as mandated by the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010.
  • A minimum of 12 months professional experience in early childhood teaching within Australia.
  • At least one year of experience delivering programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS).
  • Experience in curriculum design, child assessment, and educational program development for at least 12 months.
  • Minimum twelve months mentoring and supervision experience of educators in early childhood pedagogy.
  • Experience supporting children with diverse educational needs and using inclusive teaching approaches for at least 12 months.
  • Proven engagement with parents, carers, and external agencies to enhance children's learning outcomes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Quality Framework and current curriculum frameworks tailored for diverse children, educators, families, and the community.
  • Strong understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the National Regulations 2011.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, adults, colleagues, and the wider community.
  • Capability to collaborate within a team, appreciating the strengths and limitations of team members.
