About the Role

We are seeking a responsible and safety-conscious Driver and Logistics Officer to join the multidisciplinary team at the ACT Health Centre, located on-base in the Australian Capital Territory. About ACT Health Centre

The Health Centre services around 7,000 military personnel including trainees from the Australian Defence Force Academy and the Royal Military College. Operating since mid-2022, the facility includes a 24-bed low dependency ward running 24/7 and offers a range of services such as primary medical care, aviation and underwater medicine, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmacy, and physiotherapy. Standard operating hours are generally 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekdays, with additional weekend and on-call shifts depending on role requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of JHU vehicles, including ambulances, and verify the operational status of their equipment.
  • Administer basic first aid when necessary and conduct routine testing and checks of equipment and systems.
  • Transport patients for non-emergency purposes and deliver medical, pharmaceutical, and other supplies between facilities.
  • Handle medical and general inventory management including ordering, receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching items.
  • Restock first aid kits under supervision and manage returns of surplus stock.
  • Assist with the maintenance, repair, calibration, and tracking of medical and dental equipment.
  • Manage equipment loans and hires according to organisational policies.
  • Comply with Defence protocols including audits and inventory/accounting controls.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least two years of relevant experience in logistics, storage, or transportation roles.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s licence alongside current certifications in First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009).
  • Additional advantages include experience in warehouses, patient transport, and possession of a forklift licence.
  • Commitment to maintaining up-to-date certifications and ongoing professional development.
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to acquire and maintain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
