Fighter Pilot Operations Subject Matter Expert - Langley AFB, VA

Position Summary

Serco is seeking a Fighter Pilot or Weapon System Officer (WSO)/Combat Systems Officer (CSO)/Navigator Flying Officer (NFO) Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Air Combat Command’s Combat Air Forces Distributed Training Center (CAF DTC) at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. This crucial role involves facilitating integration training for U.S. and allied aircrews, air battle managers, and Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) within an advanced virtual battlespace designed for realistic combat training.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and support daily training events by scheduling, mission planning, preparing materials, conducting briefings, executing missions, and performing debriefs for large force exercises (LFEs) and small team operations.
• Participate in CAF exercise planning conferences such as RED FLAG and site visits to understand and integrate unit training requirements into mission scenarios.
• Provide expert consulting to military and defense clients for developing and assessing military training and doctrine including scenario planning and after-action review and analysis.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) and Special Access Program/Special Access Required (SAP/SAR) clearances.
• Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of fighter aviator experience, or Master’s degree with 7 years, or PhD with 4 years.
• Experience as a former Fighter Pilot, NFO, CSO, or WSO in aircraft such as F-15C/E/EX, F-16C, F/A-18, EA-18G, F-22, or F-35.
• Profound knowledge of Air Force Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (AFTTP) 3-1 or equivalent service fighter employment manuals.
• Operationally relevant experience within the last decade, including simulator operations.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Holding an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Qualification as a mission commander.
• Experience as an instructor pilot, WSO, CSO, or NFO.
• Deep knowledge of fifth-generation fighter employment and integration strategies.
