Position Overview

The Institute of Pharmacy invites applicants for a Doctoral Researcher role in nanomedicine starting on October 1, 2026. This position is developed in collaboration with partners from medicine and chemistry, focusing on the design and application of nanomaterials in gene delivery methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate nanoparticles encapsulating biopolymers like nucleic acids or proteins, aimed at optimizing gene delivery stability and efficacy.
  • Perform detailed characterizations including particle size, shape, distribution, composition, and stability under various buffer and media conditions.
  • Assess interactions and effects of nanomaterials on liver-related immune cells.
  • Engage in scientific communication through publications, conference presentations, and development of a doctoral thesis.
  • Collaborate actively within the research group and supervise pharmacy students during internships.
  • Carry out an independent scientific qualification project, such as the doctoral research itself.

Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with analytical techniques, cell culture routines, and statistical data analysis is essential.
  • Proficiency in English and German communication.

  • Employment is fixed-term for three years, with part-time workload at 65% until April 12, 2029, and 50% thereafter until September 30, 2029, based on a 40-hour full-time schedule.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with severe disabilities if qualifications and suitability are equal.
