Role Overview
We seek a full-time Dispensary Technician/Pharmacy Assistant to aid Pharmacists with smooth dispensary operations, supporting stock management and customer service within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support dispensing activities under the Pharmaceutist's supervision.
- Oversee receiving and distribution of pharmaceutical stock.
- Maintain stock rotation and monitor expiry dates to optimize inventory use.
- Manage returns and safe disposal of expired or damaged medications according to policies.
- Assist in stocktaking of medical and dental supplies following Defence procedures.
- Deliver customer support and general assistance within the dispensary as needed.

Candidate Qualifications and Attributes
- Possession of a recognized qualification as a Dispensary Assistant or Technician, or equivalent certification.
- Minimum two years full-time experience in a similar dispensary technician role within the past five years.
- Participation in recent Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities.
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team-based healthcare setting.
- Australian Citizenship with capability to obtain and sustain a Defence security clearance.
Work Location Details
This position is based at Robertson Health Centre, located inside Robertson Barracks in Holtze, Northern Territory, roughly 15 km east of Darwin. The centre supports approximately 2,800 Defence members alongside Reserve forces and accommodates an additional 2,500 US Marines seasonally. Services encompass primary medical, pharmacological, dental, physiotherapy, mental health care, and a 22-bed inpatient ward running 24/7. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm.
