Job description

Overview

Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services is looking to add dishwasher staff for the University of Montevallo campus in Montevallo, Alabama. Both full-time and part-time openings are available right away.

Location

75 College Drive, Montevallo, AL 35115. Applications are accepted online only.

Schedule

Work schedules may be full time or part time, with days and hours varying based on operational needs. Typical shifts run between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm, and additional details will be shared during the interview.

Role Summary

This position is responsible for keeping dishes, cookware, kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils clean, organized, and sanitary.

Key Duties

  • Remove food residue from dishes, then wash by hand or load into dishwashing equipment based on the assigned setup.
  • Clean pots, pans, and trays following the required procedures.
  • Polish silverware with the appropriate tools and methods, such as a burnishing machine, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation rules while working.
  • Monitor temperature and chemical levels according to the stated standards.
  • Keep the dishwashing area neat and compliant with safety expectations.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors to meet sanitation requirements.
  • Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
  • Take out trash and place waste in the correct containers; steam clean or hose out garbage cans when needed.
  • Move supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
  • Assist with loading and unloading supplies and products.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in dishwashing is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Applicants should be able to follow cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures consistently.

Pay

The role pays a fixed rate of $11.00 per hour.
