Role overview

This position leads supply chain and materials management for an assigned pavilion within Harris Health. The role is responsible for creating, running, and improving a coordinated supply chain program that aligns with operational needs across purchasing, inventory control, and supply distribution.

The director also oversees the supply chain function from financial, operational, and strategic standpoints. A major part of the job is to build and execute cost-saving and utilization-reduction initiatives tied to technology assessment, planning, and management. The position supports the full pavilion supply function and helps ensure the right staffing, resource use, and service levels to improve patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the materials management function for the assigned pavilion.
  • Design and maintain an integrated supply chain program aligned to operational requirements.
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and supply distribution activities.
  • Manage the supply chain department’s financial, operational, and strategic performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve resource use, including technology-related assessment and planning.
  • Provide direct oversight of supply management across the pavilion.
  • Plan staffing and ensure efficient use of system resources.
  • Support service quality and patient satisfaction through effective supply chain operations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration with a supply chain focus, or a related discipline, is required.
  • A master’s degree is preferred.
  • CMRP or CSCP certification is strongly preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in supply chain management is required.
  • At least 4 of those years must be in acute healthcare.
  • At least 5 years of management or supervisory experience in supply chain, healthcare, or business management is required.
  • Applicants should be comfortable using a personal computer, calculator, fax machine, and copier.
  • Strong verbal communication is needed for frequent public contact and speaking situations.
  • Written communication skills are required for preparing reports.
  • Analytical ability, mathematical aptitude, and proficiency with PCs and word processing are needed.
  • The role works on a flexible schedule.

This is a full-time, onsite role based in Houston, Texas. The internal job number is 179333. The salary range is $148,345.60 to $196,560.00 per year.
