Global Vice President of Project Management

Position overview

The Global Vice President of Project Management is an executive leader who oversees the organization’s worldwide project management capability. This role is accountable for guiding the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic programs across multiple regions and business units, while keeping work tightly aligned with corporate priorities and standards of operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Define and roll out global project management strategies, standards, methods, and governance structures.
• Direct a portfolio of strategic projects and programs spanning international markets.
• Ensure initiatives are completed on schedule, within agreed scope, budget, and quality targets.
• Build and sustain a strong, high-performing Project Management Office (PMO).
• Partner with executive leaders to connect project priorities with corporate objectives and growth plans.
• Lead cross-functional and multinational teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Spot project risks early, create mitigation plans, and drive timely issue resolution.
• Track delivery performance using metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reports.
• Advance continuous improvement and organization-wide project management best practices.
• Oversee capacity planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation across global operations.
• Encourage collaboration among regional leaders, stakeholders, clients, and external partners.
• Support transformation programs, digital initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic efforts.
• Ensure adherence to corporate policies, industry rules, and international business standards.
• Coach and develop project management leaders and teams across regions.

Qualifications

The role calls for a senior project management leader with extensive global delivery experience, strong business judgment, and the ability to manage complex enterprise initiatives at scale.

Required experience and background

• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required; an MBA is preferred.
• At least 12 years of progressive project management experience, including senior leadership exposure.
• Proven success managing large-scale global projects and diverse cross-functional teams.
• Solid working knowledge of project delivery approaches such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid models.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or similar are preferred.
• History of delivering complex international programs with multi-million-dollar budgets.
• Strong capability in financial oversight, budgeting, and resource planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
