Role summary
The Director, Supply Chain will lead key supply chain activities at the Cork site, with responsibility for planning, coordination, compliance, process improvement, and cross-functional execution. The role requires strong leadership, the ability to manage complex operations, and close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to keep supply chain processes aligned with site and business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee operations and people management, including daily prioritization, training, and performance reviews, while staying within budget and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate complicated cross-functional processes and work with team members to ensure product labeling complies with regulatory expectations.
- Help shape and roll out supply chain policies, procedures, methods, standards, and systems.
- Lead planning-related activities so that company targets and the site production schedule are met in line with regulatory obligations.
- Develop project plans and drive projects through to completion on time, while identifying, escalating, and resolving issues that could affect strategic objectives.
- Ensure department documentation is created and maintained so that performance and effectiveness can be clearly tracked.
- Support continuous improvement by actively identifying opportunities to strengthen supply chain performance and processes.
- Work with the purchasing team to maintain required inventory levels for direct materials and to resolve supplier quality records promptly.
- Collaborate across organizational, cultural, and geographic boundaries to improve strategic outcomes for the supply chain function.
- Manage new product introduction activity for the GSIUC site across EU and ROW markets, coordinating all site actions needed to launch products according to commercial and regulatory timelines.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to address quality issues related to product review and release so customer requirements are met.
- Handle more complex issues using detailed analysis and a forward-looking approach to reduce quality risks proactively.
- Manage master data needs by organizing, prioritizing, and responding to requests in a timely manner.
Skills and knowledge
The successful candidate should bring strong planning and organization skills, excellent communication, effective time management, and confidence working with computer systems to support supply chain planning. A deep understanding of supply chain principles, practices, and industry standards is important, along with the ability to coordinate across multiple supply chain disciplines and competing priorities. The role also calls for strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to design and implement electronic solutions for planning operations.
