Role overview

The Director Project Operations is a full-time remote leadership role focused on guiding the planning, execution, and successful completion of several strategic initiatives across the business. The position is accountable for setting operational direction, leading project teams, and making sure delivery stays on schedule, on scope, and within budget.

What you'll do

  • Establish project delivery methods and operating approaches that support consistent execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and resources to keep work aligned with priorities.
  • Review project plans, monitor milestones, and track progress against deadlines.
  • Identify and resolve operational blockers that could affect quality, timing, or outcomes.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to clarify needs, manage expectations, and preserve strong client relationships.
  • Measure performance using key metrics and use those insights to improve delivery.
  • Streamline processes to increase efficiency and strengthen project operations.
  • Manage budgets, estimate resource requirements, and forecast staffing or capacity needs.
  • Prepare status updates and operational reports for senior leadership.

Qualifications and experience

  • Deep background in operations management, including process design, performance measurement, and leading multi-functional teams.
  • Solid project management experience handling complex work with multiple stakeholders from start to finish.
  • Strong analytical ability to review data, spot patterns, and support informed decisions.
  • Hands-on budgeting experience covering cost estimation, financial tracking, and variance review.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a track record of building positive relationships across internal and external groups.
  • Senior-level leadership experience in operations or project delivery, ideally in communications, technology, or a similar sector.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to executive and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort working remotely and collaborating with distributed teams across different time zones.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Communications, or a related discipline; an advanced degree or certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Lean, or Six Sigma are advantageous.

This is a remote position based in the United States. The role is intended for a senior professional who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on operational control across multiple projects.
