About goeasy

goeasy is among Canada’s fastest-rising companies and is recognized for a strong workplace culture, sustained growth, and performance on the TSX. Its businesses help everyday Canadians move toward a stronger financial future through products and services offered under easyhome, easyfinancial, and LendCare.

The organization values an inclusive, high-performance environment where people can grow, contribute meaningfully, and help drive innovation and financial empowerment.

Role overview

goeasy is hiring a Director, Project Delivery Office (PDO) to lead the central portfolio and project delivery function. This leader will build, scale, and oversee the processes, reporting, governance, and delivery discipline that support major initiatives across the business.

Reporting to the Vice President, IT Portfolio Management and Transformation, this person will manage a team of experienced Project Managers and ensure initiatives tied to the company’s growth strategy are executed effectively. The role calls for someone comfortable leading large, complex programs, influencing senior stakeholders, and strengthening delivery methods across waterfall, lean/agile, and hybrid approaches.

Key duties

  • Guide the PDO team to deliver projects and programs against agreed timelines, budgets, and scope through strong execution practices.
  • Oversee resourcing and capacity planning across traditional SDLC and newer delivery methods.
  • Provide detailed and frequent progress reporting, including updates on status, risks, activities, and issues for senior leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Step into direct project management when needed.
  • Support the process for collecting, ranking, tracking, and reporting projects for different audiences and governance forums.
  • Help strengthen goeasy’s project delivery standards, documentation, methodology, and governance model.
  • Work with Finance on planning, budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and recurring financial review cycles for the portfolio.
  • Assess demand against available internal and vendor capacity to support prioritized work.
  • Build strong working relationships with business owners, IT leaders, executive stakeholders, and project resources.
  • Act as a central contact point between project teams, IT, and the executive group.
  • Keep communication flowing between PMs and business stakeholders so blockers are removed and objectives stay on track.
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships on major initiatives, including contract alignment, service levels, and deliverables.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop program and project managers to deliver complex initiatives successfully.
  • Run recurring governance meetings and team forums such as stand-ups and steering committees.
  • Provide portfolio direction and departmental leadership while balancing delivery expectations with team development.

Experience and qualifications

Applicants should bring at least 10 years of cross-functional experience delivering portfolios of projects of varying size and complexity, with a strong preference for experience in software and technology implementations.

Experience leading program management processes that support strategic execution with senior leadership is required. A university degree in engineering or a related field is necessary, and a PMP designation is considered an advantage.

The ideal candidate has managed project managers working across multiple initiatives at once, often with individual budgets above 1 million dollars. This role also requires the ability to work effectively with executive stakeholders, influence without formal authority, and maintain high standards.

Strong analytical ability, financial understanding, problem-solving skills, comfort with ambiguity, business and technical acumen, leadership capability, and excellent communication and presentation skills are all essential.
