Role Overview
The Director, People Partner will support Klick’s People & Organizational Effectiveness function by helping attract, develop, retain, and engage employees. In this role, you will serve as a culture champion and trusted advisor to business leaders, using data to guide people decisions and build effective teams. You will coach leaders, handle employee relations matters, support engagement and talent initiatives, and help shape people programs, policies, and processes across the organization.
This position is also referred to as a Director, HR Business Partner/HRBP and is responsible for addressing complex organizational challenges through people-focused solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional experts to design and implement strategies for staffing, onboarding, development, retention, organization design, and performance. The role combines strategic advising with hands-on execution across a variety of people programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop trusted partnerships with senior business leaders and provide strategic guidance on organizational and people strategy.
- Support organizational design, workforce planning, succession and career planning, performance management, compensation planning, and skills development.
- Collaborate with the People & Organizational Effectiveness team to design and deliver programs that support employees.
- Coach frontline managers and senior leadership on management and people issues.
- Handle employee relations matters, including complex and sensitive situations, while balancing the needs of all parties involved.
- Identify patterns and work with the broader People & Organizational Effectiveness group to create both targeted and enterprise-wide solutions.
- Assess training needs within the business and provide or facilitate one-on-one and group learning sessions.
- Diagnose issues to uncover root causes and implement practical, cross-functional solutions quickly.
- Advise on career planning, coaching, learning and development, recognition, employee relations, performance, data analysis, and strategic talent practices.
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to spot trends, support sound decision-making, and connect insights to business priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on professional experience.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in HR business partnering, HR leadership, or generalist HR roles supporting senior leaders at fast-growing mid-sized organizations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Working knowledge of applicable employment laws and legislation.
- Experience across several HR domains, such as organizational design, succession planning, performance management, diversity and inclusion, business consulting, recognition, disability management, employee engagement, coaching, development, talent management, conflict resolution, talent acquisition, data analysis, and employee relations.
- Ability to work within constraints while also challenging existing approaches when needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfort interpreting data, recognizing trends, and turning insights into recommendations.
- Ease working in ambiguity and contributing to complex strategic discussions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build credibility with senior leaders.
- Experience supporting employees and leaders in the US and globally is preferred.
Additional Information
This role is a backfill position. The base salary range for this opportunity is CAD $120,000 to CAD $140,000. The final offer will depend on factors such as work location, education, prior experience, and the strength of the candidate’s skill set.
