Role overview

The Director of Operations supports roughly 68 Fitness Together franchise owners across 82 studio locations. In this role, you will provide day-to-day operational guidance, business analysis, training support, and issue resolution while helping owners improve performance, strengthen compliance, and run their studios more consistently. You will partner with franchise owners, the Denver Support Center, and internal peers to drive operational excellence and better business outcomes across the portfolio.

The position is focused on four main areas: in-person and virtual studio training and location visits; support for performance improvement; communication and rollout of strategic initiatives; and ongoing handling of operational issues. You will act as a trusted advisor to studio owners and managers, helping them succeed in the private-suite personal training model through coaching, accountability, and practical business support.

This role calls for someone who is highly analytical, confident in coaching others, comfortable influencing stakeholders, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You should be self-directed, persuasive, and prepared to guide franchisees with strong business judgment and a clear focus on growth.

Responsibilities

You will be expected to maintain regular contact with studio owners through weekly updates, monthly calls, open office hours, regional meetings, and other communication forums. The role also includes reviewing performance and customer feedback, identifying improvement opportunities, and helping build action plans that move each studio forward.

You will facilitate monthly collaboration calls, share performance data and best practices, and help spread successful ideas across the network. You will also participate in conference calls, meetings, webinars, and Franchise Advisory Council sessions as the operational representative between franchisees and the Support Center.

Additional responsibilities include leading regional meetings, handling operational tickets and issue resolution, preparing rollout guides and supporting materials for new programs and brand standards, and partnering with Learning & Development to provide the right training tools for studio teams. You may also contribute to Franchise University sessions, Confirmation Day events, and new store opening efforts.

The role further includes coordinating with the NSO and Transfers team on pre-opening planning, training execution, and post-opening support, as well as working with leadership on closures or studio transfers when needed. You will also visit studios periodically, coach teams in person, support new programs, and manage your schedule to maintain strong visibility across the portfolio.

Other duties and special projects may be assigned by management.

Requirements

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline, along with 5 to 10 years of experience supporting franchisees, working within a franchised business, or serving in a field operations role. Experience managing multiple units is preferred.

Experience in health, wellness, or fitness is considered an advantage, especially if you are familiar with personal training or boutique fitness environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of coaching, mentoring, and working collaboratively with franchise owners and teams.

You should bring excellent planning, prioritization, and time management abilities, along with solid organizational discipline and the flexibility to adjust to changing business needs. Strong analytical and financial skills are important, as is the ability to evaluate performance data and turn it into practical coaching.

Clear written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to lead group presentations. You should also be able to influence others effectively, drive initiative implementation under tight deadlines, pay close attention to detail, and stay composed in demanding or fast-moving situations.

This position requires frequent travel of approximately 25% to 50% and periodic in-person presence at the Denver Support Center for Confirmation Day events and other corporate activities.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $95,000 to $105,000 per year. Final offers will be set fairly based on role-related skills and experience. The stated range reflects Colorado disclosure requirements, and compensation may differ for candidates working outside Colorado.
