Director of Supply Chain Operations

About the Role

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished supply chain professional to oversee and improve the organization’s complete supply chain function. The position is focused on strengthening performance across planning, inventory, logistics, fulfillment, and supplier coordination while building processes that can scale with business growth.

The role calls for a forward-thinking operations leader with deep experience in supply chain management, process enhancement, and collaboration across departments. You will help define operational direction, improve business efficiency, and guide a high-performing team in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement supply chain operations plans that support business goals and future expansion.
• Oversee daily supply chain activity, including demand forecasting, inventory control, logistics management, fulfillment, and execution.
• Set operating procedures, standards, and best practices that improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability.
• Work closely with Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Customer Success, and senior leadership to ensure smooth cross-functional coordination.
• Track and assess supply chain KPIs to spot patterns, improve performance, and support informed decision-making.
• Lead improvement efforts aimed at better inventory use, transportation performance, warehouse operations, and standardized processes.
• Plan capacity and allocate resources based on shifting priorities and customer requirements.
• Improve supplier relationships by partnering with key vendors to raise service quality, operational performance, and supply reliability.
• Guide transformation efforts through process redesign, automation, and technology adoption.
• Recruit, coach, and develop a strong supply chain operations team while promoting accountability, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
• Prepare accurate operational reports and provide leadership with practical insights and recommendations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a similar discipline. A master’s degree is preferred.

You should bring at least 8 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in supply chain operations, logistics, operations management, or a related area, along with a proven record of managing full-scale supply chain functions in complex or fast-growing organizations.

Strong knowledge of inventory planning, demand forecasting, logistics, fulfillment, and process improvement is essential. The role also requires a track record of building scalable operating models and driving continuous improvement.

Successful candidates will have excellent leadership, communication, organization, and stakeholder management abilities, plus strong analytical and problem-solving skills grounded in data.

Hands-on experience with ERP platforms, warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and supply chain analytics tools is important. You must also be capable of leading several strategic initiatives in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Background

• Experience in manufacturing, technology, retail, healthcare, consumer products, distribution, or another supply chain-heavy industry.
• Exposure to multi-site or global supply chain operations.
• Background in digital transformation, supply chain optimization, or operational excellence programs.
• Professional supply chain, operations, or continuous improvement certifications are an added advantage.
