Job description

About the Company

The Patriot Group, Inc. (TPGI) is a rapidly expanding aerospace and defense manufacturer and systems integrator that supports the U.S. Government and allied partners. Their operations include over 20 NAICS classifications such as aircraft manufacturing, munitions systems integration, ISR technology, laser systems, missile guidance, specialized container fabrication, and FAA Part 145 repair station activities. They operate multiple manufacturing facilities across Texas, Arizona, Maryland, and Idaho.

Position Overview

This senior leadership role is designed to establish and institutionalize a compliant and scalable supply chain function across a multi-site defense manufacturing organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, the Director will be instrumental in building teams, developing systems, creating processes, and establishing compliance infrastructure to support significant growth initiatives. The role demands experience in defense supply chain environments and an ability to lead the integration of acquired businesses and the implementation of Epicor ERP, while driving compliance efficiently to support warfighter readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a FAR/DFARS-compliant Government Property Management system aligned with FAR Part 45 and DFARS 245, effectively managing Government Furnished Property (GFP) and Contractor Acquired Property (CAP).
  • Participate actively in CPSR, GPAR, and government system audits including preparation, documentation, and direct communication with DCMA and DCAA auditors.
  • Maintain expertise in ITAR, EAR, and export control policies as they affect supply chain operations.
  • Manage supplier qualification and performance programs across a broad, dispersed supplier network, ensuring adherence to small business subcontracting requirements and development of subcontracting plans when necessary.
  • Establish and support inventory management, demand planning, and material management processes across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts employing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to reduce lead times, expenses, and supply risks.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to sole-source suppliers, geopolitical factors, supplier financial health, counterfeit component risks, and long lead times.
  • Contribute to business continuity planning aimed at maintaining supply commitments to the U.S. Government during adverse circumstances.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain or procurement.
  • A minimum of 3 years in leadership roles overseeing teams or cross-functional projects.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and subcontract flow-down requirements.
  • Experience supporting or participating in CPSR or similar government purchasing system audits.
  • Proven procurement experience within aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated manufacturing sectors, including familiarity with ITAR/EAR regulations.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% domestically across multiple sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree such as MBA or MS in supply chain/operations management.
  • Professional certifications like APICS CSCP or CPSM.
  • Experience working within small businesses (under $50M) and larger prime defense contractors.
  • More than 10 years of progressively accountable leadership in defense supply chains.
  • Hands-on experience with Epicor ERP implementations.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Established supplier relationships within aerospace & defense sectors, especially in Southwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Compensation and Logistics

  • Base salary range approximately $160,000 to $200,000 annually plus bonus eligibility.
  • Position primarily based onsite in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, Texas.
  • Up to 40% travel expected across Texas, Arizona, Maryland, and Idaho locations.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
