Job description
Role Overview
The Director of Supply Chain and Logistics leads the comprehensive site-wide supply chain operations for AdvanCell, overseeing procurement, production scheduling, inventory control, warehouse activities, incoming sampling, and logistics management to guarantee the consistent manufacturing, supply, and distribution of Pb-212 radiopharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete clinical supply chain process including production plans, isotope availability, inventory levels, and distribution networks to maintain continuous product availability.
- Oversee materials procurement, warehouse operations, and logistics activities to facilitate just-in-time delivery of essential radiopharmaceuticals.
- Maintain and optimize site-wide demand and supply planning processes, implement safety stock policies, and align supply chain inputs with broader business strategies.
- Lead cross-departmental governance for supply chain challenges while proactively resolving risks such as shortages, delays, and supplier issues.
- Develop and update planning tools, dashboards, KPIs, and master data systems encompassing materials, bills of materials, recipes, and resource tracking to enhance operational decisions.
- Drive operational excellence through performance management, risk reduction, resource optimization, continuous improvement initiatives, and reinforcing supply dependability.
- Prepare the organization for full GMP manufacturing by supporting scale-ups, technology transfers, facility expansions, and commercialization needs.
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Regulatory, R&D, CMC, Clinical, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to implement manufacturing strategies fulfilling site goals.
- Manage and negotiate supply contracts, working with Quality and Legal departments to ensure agreement compliance.
- Ensure full compliance with cGMP, FDA, DOT, IATA, TGA regulations and remain prepared for audits and inspections.
- Promote a safety-first culture emphasizing quality, accountability, and continuous improvement while adhering to all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Participate in corporate budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning to ensure alignment between operations and business goals.
- Champion corporate mission, nurture a high-performance workplace culture, and facilitate innovation, growth, and excellence across functions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Over seven years of experience within the pharmaceutical sector or equivalent, with extensive involvement in warehousing, planning, and logistics.
- Minimum of five years in supply chain roles and at least three years specifically in logistics operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international shipping regulations focused on safety, security, and import/export compliance.
- Expertise in logistics and planning software tools including demand and forecasting systems, manufacturing order processing, and bills of materials integration.
- Five or more years of leadership experience successfully managing teams.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements for transport, storage, distribution, and disposal of radioactive substances including TGA, ARPANSA, IATA, ADG Code, and relevant legal requirements.
- Strong leadership skills combined with strategic operational planning and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Prior experience with just-in-time GMP manufacturing of radiopharmaceuticals, transitioning clinical operations to commercial scale, and constructing supply chain infrastructures for new manufacturing facilities is highly valued.
