Position Summary

The Director of Strategic Growth & Partnerships at Sigma Nursing leads the creation and implementation of the organization's strategy to generate non-dues revenue. This role encompasses oversight of business development, Marketplace operations, sponsorships, strategic partnerships, and other revenue-generating initiatives. The position aims at fostering long-term advancement and financial stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage the organization's revenue framework including lead qualification, sales processes, forecasting, and pipeline supervision.
  • Oversee Marketplace, e-commerce, and B2B sales activities.
  • Lead the development, negotiation, and maintenance of sponsorships and strategic partnerships across corporate, academic, foundation, and industry sectors.
  • Provide strategic financial oversight of a non-dues revenue portfolio exceeding $3.5 million, ensuring disciplined management of partnerships and sales channels.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leaders and interdisciplinary teams such as Marketing, Membership Engagement, Events, Publications, Learning, and Finance to align revenue initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and career development for Marketplace staff.

A Typical Week

  • Review Marketplace metrics, sales performance, and revenue dashboards to monitor annual goals and adjust strategies including forecasting and lead generation.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to coordinate revenue growth initiatives and engage in partner calls to negotiate sponsorships and contracts.
  • Manage partnerships by cultivating new relationships and stewarding renewals; oversee Marketplace operations including fulfillment, inventory, vendor relations, and contract administration.
  • Analyze CRM data and customer behavior to improve acquisition, retention, and value.
  • Offer guidance and support to Marketplace team members, fostering performance and clearing obstacles.
  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and margin management with Finance; prepare performance updates for leadership and board presentations.
  • Represent Sigma Nursing at external events to enhance organizational visibility and impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, nonprofit management, healthcare administration or a related discipline; Master's degree or CAE certification is advantageous.
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in business development, e-commerce, or revenue generation, demonstrating success in leading teams to surpass revenue goals.
  • Proficient in budget management, revenue forecasting, P&L oversight, strong analytical, negotiation, and contract administration expertise.
  • Experienced user of e-commerce platforms, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven track record of managing strategic institutional partnerships across varied sectors.
  • Familiarity with managing B2B sales pipelines, preferably within global membership or subscription-based organizations.
  • Comfort and skill in delivering revenue forecasts and strategic advice to senior leadership and board members.

Work Environment & Compensation

This hybrid, remote-friendly position is available nationwide within the U.S. Regular domestic and international travel (4-6 times annually) is expected for events and meetings. Salary ranges from $75,000 to $95,000, established to promote fairness and fiscal responsibility.
