Role Overview

We seek a seasoned, proactive Director of Safety, Security & Training to join our team, responsible for enhancing hotel-wide safety and loss prevention initiatives. This includes developing and delivering effective safety training programs including OSHA compliance, departmental procedures, and collaborative training with law enforcement agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources on all training-related matters for both internal staff and external partners.
  • Assess and identify training needs across all hotel departments.
  • Lead and conduct safety training programs, ensuring OSHA compliance requirements are met.
  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for hotel operations.
  • Facilitate both internal hotel and departmental trainings.
  • Coordinate law enforcement partnered training involving credit card fraud, counterfeiting, handcuff techniques, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory training obligations and licensing requirements.
  • Develop and implement career and specialized training paths for all security roles, from entry-level to managerial positions.
  • Support managers with resolving specific training challenges, either individually or in groups.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials and manuals.
  • Track and log training initiatives, including topics, dates, and participant attendance.
  • Maintain and revise all training manuals in coordination with HR and department specifications.
  • Execute any additional duties as required.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant state and federal laws.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in effective communication and relationship building with guests, management, and team members.
  • Organizational skills with robust problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent English reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Knowledge and compliance of company policies, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical safety labels, and other instructions.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

Certification as a CPR, First Aid, and AED instructor is preferred.
