Role Overview
Reporting to the Director of Spa, the Assistant Director of Spa Operations will uphold the highest standards of spa etiquette and service in all guest and team interactions. This role is responsible for executing business objectives and ensuring alignment with spa goals by maximizing financial, operational, and marketing opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director by leading spa and salon staff effectively.
- Oversee budgeting by monitoring expenses and revenue attainment.
- Ensure the spa facilities maintain exemplary standards of cleanliness and sanitation through regular inspections.
- Engage in promotional activities targeting local guests, groups, and external vendors to market spa, salon, and gym services.
- Address guest concerns promptly and implement practical solutions.
- Schedule and assign work to optimize equipment and staff utilization.
- Enforce adherence to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Manage team performance including employment, communication, coaching, and relationship building.
- Coordinate with the POS systems vendor as a liaison.
- Supervise both Spa Services and Salon Managers.
- Oversee the sales process for gift cards and vouchers.
- Perform additional duties as delegated by the Director.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of spa services and treatments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, scheduling software, and presentation tools.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, leadership, management, budgeting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication abilities to foster positive relationships with clients, management, and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding guest and resort information.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of three years’ experience supervising a large resort spa is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant education and experience is preferred.
