Director of Operations

Role overview

A fast-growing consumer brand with high-volume direct-to-consumer and omnichannel fulfilment activity is looking for a Director of Operations to lead and expand its physical operations and distribution network. The role focuses on keeping inventory flowing smoothly, maintaining strong fulfilment performance, and ensuring facilities run efficiently as the business continues to scale.

The company is at a stage where it needs a senior operational leader to strengthen throughput, raise service levels, and grow infrastructure capacity while protecting efficiency, accuracy, and cost control across the network. This position is based onsite in the Mountain West region of the United States. Relocation may be needed and will be discussed during the hiring process.

Key accountabilities

• Take full ownership of warehouse and fulfilment operations from end to end.
• Oversee inventory systems, stock accuracy, and day-to-day facility performance.
• Improve labour productivity, operational efficiency, and service level outcomes.
• Lead the expansion and scaling of distribution and fulfilment infrastructure.
• Ensure strong execution across all sales and distribution channels, including Shopify, Amazon, wholesale, and retail.
• Build, refine, and standardise processes, systems, and workflows that support future growth.

Experience profile

The ideal candidate will bring more than 10 years of experience in distribution, fulfilment, or operational leadership. They should have managed large-scale operating environments, led mid-sized to larger teams, and worked extensively with warehouse management systems, inventory control, and fulfilment operations.

Prior experience in fast-moving consumer, retail, or high-growth distribution settings is important. The best fit is likely a Director or Head of Operations from a high-volume distribution or fulfilment business, or a hands-on operator from consumer goods, apparel, retail, or logistics who has successfully scaled infrastructure while preserving service quality and cost discipline.
