Overview
The Director of Operations at The SEED School of Miami plays a crucial leadership role overseeing key non-teaching functions to ensure the school operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role encompasses managing transportation logistics, cafeteria services, campus security, and housekeeping, collaborating closely with school staff and external partners to maintain a secure and student-friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of buses, vans, parent pickups, and student dismissals prioritizing safety and compliance.
- Manage the vehicle fleet by scheduling maintenance, inspections, licensing, and upkeep records.
- Lead and evaluate bus and van monitors to maintain student safety during travel.
- Work alongside transportation providers, parents, and staff to address issues and optimize processes.
- Design and implement traffic and dismissal plans to ensure efficiency and safety during busy periods.
- Oversee cafeteria operations, aligning with nutritional standards, health, and safety regulations.
- Actively manage cafeteria functions within the national food service program.
- Evaluate vendor service quality, meal standards, and student satisfaction levels.
- Coordinate with cafeteria staff to optimize scheduling and resolve operational challenges.
- Manage campus security personnel and enforce protocols to guarantee a safe school setting in collaboration with vendor administrators.
- Monitor security technologies such as surveillance and access control systems for effectiveness.
- Work with the Director of Facilities to develop, implement, and improve emergency preparedness plans.
- Organize mandated emergency drills including fire, lockdown, severe weather, evacuation, and shelter-in-place.
- Ensure adherence to state and district safety requirements.
- Provide staff training and coordinate with local law enforcement to enhance emergency readiness and responses.
- Lead, mentor, and assess operations teams across transportation, cafeteria, and security divisions.
- Manage budgets for operational areas to ensure financial responsibility and cost efficiency.
- Create and enforce standard operating procedures to boost compliance, service quality, and efficiency.
- Serve as the main contact for operational concerns from students, staff, and parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Educational Administration, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- Three to five years of increasing responsibility in school operations, facilities management, or comparable areas.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management expertise.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and troubleshoot in dynamic environments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with school safety protocols, cafeteria services, and custodial operations is advantageous.
- Pre-employment screening including drug testing and Level 2 fingerprint check required.
