Position Summary
The Director of Operations acts as the highest-ranking operational leader within the company, overseeing critical functions that support the organization's expansion and ensure excellent client service, adherence to regulatory standards, and operational excellence. This role is designed to be hybrid or onsite and may be located in Lansing, Michigan, Chicago, or Charlotte, NC. Directly reporting to the CEO, the Director manages operations, client service, accounting, and human resources departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the operational infrastructure necessary to efficiently scale the firm while maintaining high standards of client service and compliance.
- Lead firm-wide operational processes ensuring uniformity and efficiency across departments.
- Drive execution of strategic objectives by transforming firm priorities into actionable plans with measurable outcomes.
- Enhance client onboarding procedures, improve service workflows, and elevate the overall client experience.
- Oversee and optimize technology platforms, including CRM systems, performance reporting tools, portfolio management, and trading technology, coordinating with the fractional Chief Information Officer.
- Ensure compliance support and risk control procedures uphold regulatory requirements.
- Standardize workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and facilitate scalable growth through process improvements.
- Provide leadership and development for operations, client service, accounting, and HR teams.
- Establish clear accountability structures across teams and enhance process consistency and service standards firm-wide.
- Implement technology and AI solutions to improve operational capacity and reduce process cycle times.
- Oversee the accounting function through the corporate controller to ensure timely month-end close, budget development, efficiency improvements, and variance reporting.
- Manage all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, performance reviews, insurance, payroll, and HR information systems.
- Lead risk management initiatives for the company.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 7 to 10 or more years of leadership experience in operations within wealth management or financial services sectors.
- Demonstrates proven success in scaling operations in a growing organizational environment.
- Experienced in managing teams, operational systems, and cross-department projects.
- Combination of strategic mindset and practical, hands-on execution skills.
- Adept at designing processes, driving efficiency, and leading teams effectively.
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments with strong accountability standards.
