Job description
About the Role
Our client, a rapidly expanding Canadian e-commerce company specializing in innovative home improvement products and serving customers across North America, is seeking a dynamic Director of Operations. This role is crucial for driving the next phase of growth by building scalable processes and systems rather than maintaining existing ones. Your leadership will span fulfillment, supply chain, warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, logistics, and overseeing a significant ERP implementation initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Canadian fulfillment operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day management.
- Manage inventory operations across multiple sites in Canada, Texas, and Amazon FBA facilities.
- Direct freight, logistics, and cross-border distribution efforts.
- Establish and monitor warehouse key performance indicators and promote operational excellence.
- Develop standard operating procedures and work towards process uniformity.
- Lead the implementation and adoption of a new ERP system alongside other operational tools.
- Drive continuous improvement projects that lead to measurable operational advancements.
Who We Are Looking For
- An individual who develops systems-based solutions rather than temporary fixes.
- Status-driven leader who uses data to guide decisions over assumptions.
- Comfortable balancing hands-on warehouse involvement with strategic planning.
- Proven track record of leading operational change within a growing enterprise.
- Experienced with ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or major system rollouts.
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments where incremental improvements have a significant impact.
What Success Looks Like After One Year
- A more robust and scalable operation built and functioning effectively.
- Well-documented processes and clearly defined standard operating procedures.
- Improved accuracy in inventory management.
- Measurable enhancements in warehouse performance indicators.
- Teams aligned with clear objectives and directions.
- ERP implementation progressing successfully under your leadership.
