Our digital learning offerings empower change-makers to improve lives and neighborhoods.

Role Overview

We are searching for a proactive, results-driven Director of Marketing to guide and implement all aspects of our marketing endeavors. This includes responsibilities like paid acquisition, customer lifecycle marketing, content management, website oversight, social engagement, and retention strategies. You will manage a lean, yet high-achieving internal team and collaborate with external partners, working closely alongside the Product, Education, Creative, and Sales departments to maximize revenue, impact, and audience engagement.

This role demands hands-on leadership, managing the marketing profit and loss account fully, reacting swiftly to insights, and actively launching campaigns. It suits someone who flourishes in dynamic, mission-focused settings and is eager to spearhead growth and performance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the marketing budget and P&L, ensuring accountability for customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), conversion rates, and return on investment (ROI) across various channels.
  • Lead a diverse, high-productivity team responsible for paid media, social, email/lifecycle marketing, content creation, and marketing operations, providing guidance and removing obstacles.
  • Develop and maintain integrated campaign schedules spanning paid, organic, email, and website channels.
  • Translate broad business objectives into actionable marketing strategies with defined milestones, key performance indicators, and assigned owners.
  • Continuously optimize performance marketing campaigns (Google, Meta, affiliate networks) in real-time while experimenting with new channels for growth.
  • Manage lifecycle marketing and retention efforts, including email automation, customer segmentation, and journey mapping.
  • Collaborate with Product and Creative teams on messaging, product launches, and content strategies aimed at boosting conversions and revenue.
  • Use analytical tools such as HubSpot, Google Analytics, and Power BI to monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for enhancement without delays.
  • Ensure consistent brand standards are maintained across all marketing and communication channels.
  • Manage the marketing technology ecosystem including CRM, email platforms, and analytics instruments to support scalable and efficient operations.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership, identifying new revenue streams, customer insights, and unexplored marketing channels.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of seven years in comprehensive marketing roles with at least three years holding leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven success in executing performance-focused marketing campaigns that yield tangible ROI.
  • Strong understanding of marketing metrics such as CAC, LTV, ROAS, conversion, and churn rates.
  • Preferred experience with subscription-based models, eLearning platforms, or managing high-value sales funnels.
  • Experience managing agile teams and external agencies.
  • Expertise in marketing platforms including Google Ads, Meta advertising, HubSpot, Looker, and Google Analytics 4.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and high levels of accountability.
  • Collaborative leadership style with hands-on involvement and effective communication skills; committed to mentoring team members.

Additional Desirable Skills

  • Background in wellness, coaching, education, or consumer health sectors.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, CMS platforms, and basic HTML/CSS.
  • Skills in copywriting and reviewing creative content.
  • Experience scaling brands through both direct response and organic content marketing.

Employee Benefits

  • Unlimited paid vacation coupled with additional sick leave and comprehensive parental leave.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions up to 4%.
  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Complimentary access to educational programs offered by the Institute.
  • Seasonal health and wellness initiatives and perks.
