The organization values individuality, creativity and the freedom to shape a meaningful career while contributing to a forward-looking hospitality vision.

Role Overview

The Director of Marketing, Digital & Communications will lead the hotel's brand reputation, market visibility, guest appeal and digital effectiveness across all guest touchpoints. As part of the leadership team, the role is accountable for creating and delivering integrated strategies across marketing, communications, public relations, social media, content, partnerships, e-commerce and digital channels. The objective is to position the hotel as a premier luxury destination in Makkah while driving brand strength and measurable commercial outcomes across Rooms, Restaurants, Wellness and other revenue areas.

In this role, you will serve as both a brand steward and a cultural representative, ensuring every campaign, message, partnership and guest-facing initiative aligns with the elegance of the brand and the cultural importance of the destination. You will work in close coordination with Revenue Management, Sales, Operations and regional commercial teams to ensure marketing activity supports growth, engagement and long-term business success.

Strategy, Positioning and Commercial Planning

  • Create and implement the annual marketing, communications and digital marketing roadmap in line with brand direction and commercial goals.
  • Protect the hotel's cultural link and positioning framework so that campaigns, collaborations, narratives and guest experiences stay true to the property's identity.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Set yearly digital revenue objectives for direct and indirect channels.
  • Develop digital marketing plans and budgets across all online channels and performance drivers.
  • Identify partnerships, collaborations and cultural opportunities that improve visibility, guest interest and brand appeal.
  • Coordinate closely with Revenue Management and Sales to keep commercial goals and marketing plans aligned.

Marketing, Communications and Public Relations

  • Direct the hotel's integrated marketing, communications and PR efforts across all guest-facing channels.
  • Lead media relations, brand campaigns, partnerships, storytelling and activations that support luxury positioning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with media, tourism bodies, luxury brands, cultural organizations and other key industry contacts.
  • Increase local, regional and international exposure through compelling storytelling and strategic communication.
  • Guide content development, including photography, video, editorial narratives and campaign production, while ensuring consistency across channels.
  • Manage outside agencies, creative vendors, photographers, videographers and production suppliers.

Digital Marketing and E-Commerce

  • Own the full digital commerce strategy across direct and indirect channels, with accountability for digital revenue from Rooms, F&B, Wellness and ancillary offerings, as well as the right channel mix.
  • Improve direct channel performance through the hotel website, booking engine and broader direct-booking ecosystem.
  • Oversee the indirect channel approach, including visibility, content and commercial terms aimed at stronger market share and revenue contribution.
  • Manage paid media investment and channel allocation across SEM, metasearch, display, social and OTA channels to maximise return on spend.
  • Lead CRM activity, database expansion, audience segmentation and lifecycle communications.
  • Ensure campaigns and agencies deliver measurable ROI, lead generation and conversion while keeping pace with new platforms and consumer behaviour.
  • Own digital measurement, attribution, analytics, tracking and dashboards as the primary source of truth for digital performance.
  • Track emerging platforms, technologies and consumer trends to uncover growth opportunities.

Social Media and Content Strategy

  • Define and oversee the hotel's social media direction to build awareness, engagement and community growth.
  • Ensure all content reflects luxury standards, the brand's visual identity and cultural relevance.
  • Spot emerging social trends, creators, influencers and partnership opportunities.
  • Lead planning, creation and publishing across social channels.
  • Review social performance and optimise audience engagement.

Online Reputation and Guest Engagement

  • Manage the hotel's online reputation and guest sentiment across review platforms.
  • Track guest feedback and identify ways to improve the experience.
  • Partner with Operations and Guest Relations to resolve concerns and strengthen satisfaction.
  • Use guest reviews and insights to inform marketing and commercial decisions.

Performance Analytics and Market Intelligence

  • Evaluate campaign results, website performance, digital marketing data and market intelligence.
  • Monitor competitors, tourism patterns and luxury consumer behaviour.
  • Track KPIs such as traffic, engagement, conversion, revenue contribution and ROI.
  • Prepare regular performance updates and strategic recommendations for the Executive Committee.
  • Use third-party intelligence tools and market insights to identify revenue opportunities and support decision-making.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Contribute as a senior leader to the hotel's overall strategic direction and success.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing Marketing, Digital & Communications team.
  • Build a culture of innovation, teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor team members while supporting succession planning and talent growth.
  • Champion brand culture and motivate the team to deliver strong marketing, storytelling and guest engagement outcomes.
  • Align team goals with the hotel's commercial priorities and long-term brand vision.
