About Lookout Housing and Health Society

Lookout Housing and Health Society offers housing solutions and supportive services for adults with limited or no income who face considerable barriers in securing housing or essential support. The organization prioritizes removing obstacles to access its services, helping individuals meet basic needs and long-term goals.

Position Overview

The Director of Information Technology oversees the organization's IT operations, information security, and advances digital capabilities. This role combines daily technical support with strategic leadership collaboration to ensure innovative, efficient technology services meet departmental and organizational expansion requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic consultant to internal teams and external partners, identifying technology solutions through workflow assessments to promote efficiency and system integrations.
  • Work closely with the executive leadership to forecast and fulfill IT needs, recommending improved products and technologies to enhance infrastructure.
  • Design and execute IT processes aligned with organizational objectives, ensuring seamless adoption and integration of new hardware and software.
  • Oversee cybersecurity management, conduct audits, and foster a culture emphasizing security awareness.
  • Create and enforce business continuity policies to minimize interruptions, integrating appropriate security controls for infrastructure and data protection.
  • Install, maintain, and repair IT hardware and software to maintain optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and deliver hands-on support as needed.
  • Conduct evaluations and testing of IT systems and equipment.
  • Manage relationships and service agreements with external vendors providing software and hardware support.
  • Analyze performance metrics and costs of IT infrastructure; prepare budgets and proposals for capital upgrades.
  • Monitor compliance with security certificates and related standards.
  • Develop external partnerships with IT vendors and service providers.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Duties

  • Lead and manage the IT team, including recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Hire new staff and provide training.
  • Plan and delegate tasks and projects among IT personnel.
  • Conduct timely, constructive performance evaluations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline with at least five years managing IT departments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in people management and coaching.
  • Background in nonprofit or healthcare sectors is advantageous.
  • Availability for occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work to support a 24-hour operation.
  • Capability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to lift items up to 20 pounds.
  • Completion of a respirator fit test is mandatory for safety compliance; candidates must be clean-shaven where the respirator seals.
