The organization’s team comprises engineers, designers, and problem solvers distributed globally and committed to crafting meaningful urban experiences.
Role Overview
The position of Director of Operations reports as a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing field operations, supply chain logistics, and the hardware installation network across more than 60 cities. This position demands a practical hands-on working-manager approach rather than purely strategic oversight in its initial phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the field operations department and develop scalable plans to automate workflows progressively.
- Manage the supply chain and logistics operations for hardware components, coordinating collaborations with suppliers and installation vendors throughout the city network.
- Take broad ownership of general company operations beyond field operations.
- Develop and maintain AI-assisted operational workflows and automation tools in close collaboration with engineering teams, actively engaging in their implementation.
Candidate Profile
- Possess at least 5 years of leadership experience in operations, supply chain, or logistics, preferably within a physical or hardware product environment.
- Demonstrate proven success managing vendor relationships and overseeing distributed field service or installation networks.
- Maintain strong familiarity and active usage of modern software and AI technologies rather than merely theoretical knowledge.
- Be comfortable functioning as a hands-on, proactive working manager.
Additional Information
Ideal candidates may come from related industries such as solar installation, electric vehicle charging network operations, telecommunications or cable field services, digital kiosk or vending operations, or security system installation. This role is distinctly technology-forward and requires active involvement in building and applying AI-assisted processes, distinguishing it from traditional field service management roles reliant on manual processes like spreadsheets or phone communications.
