About the Role
Lead the Human Resources function at a highly renowned cultural organization in New York City known for its mission-driven values. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will oversee the People & Culture operations for an employee base of around 75. This leadership position involves strategic partnership with senior management to cultivate organizational culture, coach leadership teams, and guide the institution through its upcoming growth stages. Success depends on forging trusted relationships, demonstrating sound judgment, and expert employee relations capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic business partner and executive coach to senior leadership.
- Manage employee relations and conduct workplace investigations.
- Drive initiatives enhancing organizational culture and employee engagement.
- Lead talent acquisition and employee onboarding processes.
- Develop leadership capabilities and oversee performance management.
- Supervise HR operations, ensure compliance, and lead policy formulation.
- Enhance organizational effectiveness and manage change initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The position suits seasoned HR professionals with a proven track record in partnering with executive teams in multifaceted organizations, including but not limited to nonprofit, arts and culture, media, publishing, education, hospitality, consumer sectors, professional services, and mission-driven entities. Prior experience in arts is not mandatory; key attributes include building credibility, leadership coaching, and adept handling of complex employee relations matters.
Qualifications and Skills
- Progressive experience in Human Resources leadership roles.
- Strong background in employee relations.
- Proficiency in executive coaching and leadership collaboration.
- Expertise in HR operations and regulatory compliance.
