Position Overview
The Director of Human Resources plays a dual role of an operational HR expert and a strategic business leader. This hands-on leader shapes HR frameworks and aids the company in scaling during phases of growth, expansions, or organizational transformations. As a vital member of the executive leadership team, the HR Director significantly influences organizational success through targeted HR strategies and people management.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with executives to comprehend business goals, operational obstacles, expansion plans, and workforce impacts.
- Convert business strategies into actionable people-centric plans that enhance performance, productivity, and scalability.
- Advise leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, talent management, change initiatives, and culture development.
- Assess organizational efficiency and suggest improvements in structure, leadership, and processes to foster growth and excellence.
- Lead efforts in workforce planning aligning talent requirements with production, expansion, and succession concerns.
- Design and implement talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain essential skills for present and future demands.
- Partner with recruitment teams to establish talent pipelines for critical roles.
- Steer leadership development and succession planning to reinforce organizational strength and limit key-person risks.
- Coach managers on employee performance, team dynamics, leadership abilities, and talent management.
- Promote employee retention via engagement, development opportunities, career growth, and leadership enhancements.
- Oversee all HR operational facets including employee relations, payroll, benefits, compliance, talent acquisition, performance, and development.
- Create scalable HR processes and systems that accommodate growth and preserve operational efficiency.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement of HR workflows, service quality, and employee/manager experience.
- Develop and administer policies and governance structures that align with company goals and reduce risks.
- Lead compensation philosophies, salary management, incentive programs, and workforce cost planning to promote performance and retention.
- Supervise payroll and benefits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Manage Payroll & Benefits Specialists and overall program effectiveness.
- Oversee benefits strategies, vendor relationships, renewals, enrollment planning, and compliance.
- Review payroll controls, audits, and reporting to mitigate risks.
- Serve as point of escalation for complex payroll, benefits, leave, and employee relations issues.
- Establish standards and quality metrics for payroll and benefits delivery.
- Lead employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and address workforce challenges.
- Collaborate with leadership to proactively handle workforce concerns while fostering positive relations and minimizing risks.
- Implement employee engagement programs and utilize feedback to enhance organizational health and retention.
- Support change management efforts by facilitating communication, leader alignment, and employee acceptance.
- Use HR analytics for strategic planning, identifying risks, talent gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and maintain governance to reduce legal exposures.
- Supervise employment practices, investigations, policy management, and regulatory reporting.
- Partner with leaders to identify and address workforce risks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in senior HR roles with demonstrated strategic management capabilities.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing HR teams.
- Strategic orientation with ability to align HR with business objectives.
